A PROJECT HAS BEEN LAUNCHED TO REDUCE GHG EMISSION THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION ENERGY EFFICIENCY SOLUTIONS

29 July 2025 UAB "STEEL BRIDGES" has signed a financing and administration contract with Innovation Agency for the implementation of the project " GHG EMISSION REDUCTION THROUGH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ENERGY-EFFICIENT EQUIPMENT AT STEEL BRIDGES, UAB " (No.02-090-K-0026). The project is being implemented under the progress measure No 05-001-01-04-02 "Encouraging enterprises to move towards a climate-neutral economy" of the Economic Transformation and Competitiveness Development Programme of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, the manager of the Development Programme for the period 2022-2030.

The aim of the project is to implement energy efficiency solutions and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the technological processes by at least 30%.

The project addresses the problem:
The year-on-year increase in energy consumption and the rise in energy prices are driving the company to assess its energy consumption and the opportunities to use energy more efficiently by improving energy efficiency. The global trend towards sustainable consumption and environmental friendliness, both among competitors and end-users, encourages the company to look for the introduction of measures, technologies and processes that are environmentally friendly and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The project will include:
Steel Bridges UAB, following an energy audit and following its recommendations, plans to deploy equipment/technological solutions that will enable the company to become more energy efficient and reduce its GHG emissions by at least 30%.

The project will include the following activities:
The project will introduce equipment/technological solution (Sheet Cutting Plasma Machine, Profile Cutting Machine, Welding Line) to replace to replace polluting, outdated, and inefficient equipment. The project will contribute to reducing primary energy consumption and GHG emissions. This will contribute to Lithuania's overall impact on climate change, the promotion of clean and fair energy, the circular economy, adaptation to climate change, risk prevention and risk management of extreme climate events, air pollution and resource efficiency.

Project value: 2.576.594,00 EUR.

Support granted: 1.391.139,20 EUR.

The project is being implemented under the progress measure No 05-001-01-04-02 "Encouraging enterprises to move towards a climate-neutral economy" of the Economic Transformation and Competitiveness Development Programme of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania, the manager of the Development Programme for the period 2022-2030.

The project will contribute to reducing primary energy consumption and GHG emissions. This will contribute to Lithuania's overall impact on climate change, the promotion of clean and fair energy, the circular economy, adaptation to climate change, risk prevention and risk management of extreme climate events, air pollution and resource efficiency.

Project value: 2.188.619,96 EUR.

Support granted: 1.169.207,02 EUR.

Construction of a new metal and wood construction plant and acquisition of production equipment to create 202 sustainable jobs in the Jonava district

In order to ensure further sustainable production growth, the company is implementing a project under Progress Measure 05-001-01-06-03 "Improving the competitive environment for attracting investment" for the construction of a new 21 000 sqm production area metal and wood construction plant and the acquisition of equipment and production tools in the Jonava district. The project aims to contribute to the growth and development of the Jonava District Municipality by attracting climate-neutral investments and creating 202 additional jobs. In order to move towards a climate-neutral economy, training and retraining of workers is foreseen, which is necessary both for the foreseen introduction of innovative technologies and equipment in the

Project promoter: UAB Steel Bridges.

Objective of the project: To construct production buildings to install new equipment and to expand production capacity by creating additional jobs and training employees.

Project activities:

1) Construction of a new 21 000 sq.m. metal and wood construction plant and acquisition of equipment and capital goods in the Jonava district;

2) Training and retraining of 202 workers, providing them with the skills needed for industrial transformation.

Project value: EUR 11.015.482,25.

Support granted: EUR 7.901.855,42.

Harnessing of the energy generated by a solar power plant in the manufacture of metal structures

As energy demand grows around the world, traditional ways of sourcing energy are disappearing and harming the environment. The development of renewable energy sources (RES) is an attractive alternative to traditional energy.

In order to implement the development of renewable energy sources (RES), the Steel Bridges UAB has decided to apply under the call for proposals under the 05-001-01-04-02 "Encouraging enterprises to move towards a climate-neutral economy" for the activity "Promoting the deployment of renewable energy sources in industrial enterprises (Central and Western Lithuania)" for co-funding of an investment in a solar power plant. The installation of RES will reduce electricity costs and greenhouse gas (carbon dioxide, methane) and other air pollutant emissions, thus improving the living environment of the surrounding population. This project will not only reduce costs, but will also make us a company that contributes to mitigating the effects of climate change.
